Long Beach with the Parentals

Getting to go home to California means getting lots of quality time with my mama, who is also my bestest friend. Seriously. I tell that beesh everything and I do mean everything. We're a very close family and usually have what others might think are "TMI" conversations. But that's exactly why I love my family! We don't hide anything from each other. At the time my mama was having some medical problems and I was feeling extremely guilty for not being there for her, and I was going through some very personal things and she was feeling guilty for not being there for me. So we decided to fix that with a last minute trip to Cali!

This was the first time in about 5 years I had visited during the summer months. I'm usually only able to make it around the holidays, so it's always cold as balls and it rules out going to the beach. Not this time! My parents miraculously got on this new schedule where they are now both off on weekends. Fucking score! That means I get them all to myself!

I needed a beach trip BAD, but didn't want just the usual lounging on the sand visit since I knew Ali and I were going to Florida the following week. My mother mentioned a place called Shoreline Village that she apparently hadn't been to since I was 4 years old. Yikes! That's a long fucking time mom. She ran it by my papa who had to take a moment to mentally prepare for what he was about to endure. Not so little known fact- I'm a goober. Big time. And guess where I got it from? Yep, mama. She's fuckin nuts. But in a total good way. She's seriously my favorite part about visiting. I feel more normal being around her and my sisters since we're all giant goofballs. Acting weird in my own home is one thing, but being able to fully be yourself in public and be accepted by those around you is just such a warm feeling.

You can totally tell in the pictures my papa is just like 'these fuckin bitches' hahahaha but he loves us to pieces, I promise. He's really more amused than anything. He knew what he was getting into when he married her! And the apples don't fall far from the crazy tree. It was fun times and I can't wait to go back. Maybe next time we'll take my sisters. Do we dare? Could Long Beach handle FOUR of us? We'll have to see!
